Transport links

Transport links to Bournemouth, Weymouth and surrounding areas including national link train to London. All permanent staff are entitled to 20 per cent discount rate on First buses when using the phone app.

The Trust has an agreement with Sunny Days Nurseries in Poundbury which enables employees of Dorset County Hospital to receive discounted rates. The Trust also provides a childcare voucher scheme, enabling employees to take a portion of their salary in childcare vouchers.

Flexible working

The Trust is committed to facilitating flexible ways of working to help balance work and home life, whilst improving service delivery, motivation and morale.

Flexible working is any pattern of working that meets the needs of an individual and the service requirements of an organisation and can include: full time, part time, voluntary reduced working time, annualised hours, fixed term contract, as and when required, term time only, twilight shifts, school hours, weekends only, permanent nights, twelve hour shifts or any other flexible shift arrangement, job share, flexitime and flexible retirement.

Food and drink discounts

Staff at the hospital receive discount on all food and drink in our on-site restaurant and café by simply presenting their ID badge.
